Reciprocal Licensing Eligibility Determination

    • Applicants for a reciprocal license should submit a Request for Determination of Examination for Reciprocal Licensing to the Commission’s Licensing Division prior to taking reciprocal pre-license coursework.
    • If determined to be eligible, an applicant must complete 6 hours in an Alabama reciprocal pre-license course and pass the state portion of the licensing exam.
    • Applicants must also hold a current license in the state of original licensure (coursework and exam) and obtain a certification of licensure from that state.
    • Qualifications for reciprocal licensure are found in Rule 790-X-1-.18 of Alabama License Law.
