Note:
A licensee who is issued a Hawaii real estate salesperson license during an even-numbered year shall be deemed to have completed equivalent to the continuing education hours as required by section 467-11.5, HRS, and section 16-99-90.
Real estate course completions are reported to the Hawaii Real Estate Commission. The state requires schools to report course completions within ten days from the course completion date. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.
A Hawaii real estate licensee can repeat the same CE course every other biennium. A licensee shall not take a continuing education course for which the licensee has already received a certificate within two consecutive biennia. For make-up credits, for example, if a licensee took a course in 2015 (2015-2016 biennium) and wants the course marked as make-up and credited to the 2013-2014 biennium, the biennium in which they first took the course is the marker to determine two consecutive biennia. That biennium marker is the 2015-2016 biennium. The licensee may then take the same course in the 2019-2020 biennia.
Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each course has an individual expiration date which is listed in your account.
The passing of a final exam is not required to receive Continuing Education credit in Hawaii, therefore our system is set up so that final exams must be passed with a 0% passing score.
If you want or need to print the Certificate of Completion issued by the Hawaii Real Estate Commission, you will need to wait until the end of the next business day AFTER you have completed your course. Go to the HI website at https://pvl.ehawaii.gov/rece/app/licensee_lf.html to print that certificate.
If you are trying to reactivate or restore your license you will need to send the Hawaii Real Estate Commission certificate to Hawaii with your paperwork. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your Certificate of Completion will reflect this.
Sales Tax:
Due to the tax law which mandates that online businesses must collect sales tax in certain states, if your state requires sales tax to be collected, it will automatically be added to the total amount due at checkout minus any donation made to The CE Shop Foundation. In addition, if you choose to set up a payment plan, sales tax will be added to each monthly payment plan total. For questions, please contact The CE Shop at 888.827.0777 or Support@TheCEShop.com.
The process to renew in this state is to log in to the licensing system online and follow the prompts to renew. https://pvl.ehawaii.gov/rece/app/welcome.html
