Alabama State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education

Renewal Date: 8/31 every even-numbered year

CE Due Date: 9/30 every even-numbered year

Hours Required: 15 hours every 24 months including 3 mandatory hours in Risk Management

Max Hours in a 24-Hour Period: Alabama real estate licensees will not receive credit for more than 9 hours of continuing education per day. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Reporting: The state requires schools to report course completions within seven to ten days. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.

Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, we will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Post-Licensing: Completion of the 30-Hr. Post-Licensing Course for Salespersons within the first six months of licensure for active licensees and within one year for inactive licensees. The holder of an original license who has satisfactorily completed the post-license course and whose original license has been issued, shall not be subject to the continuing education requirements for the first renewal of his or her original license.
